Kootsac Re-usable Bags Review and Giveaway - CLOSED

I am always looking for more ways to ditch plastic, so I am so happy with my latest eco- find: Kootsac. This awesome Canadian Etsy shop creates re-usable cloth bags for your bulk and produce purchases. Each bag is hand-made in the Kootenays of BC out of ripstop nylon, cotton, or natural silk. They weigh the same as traditional plastic produce and bulk bags, but they are completely re-usable and kind to our planet.

We do a lot of bulk shopping, so I have been using my new Kootsac bags a ton. I tried two beautifully bright nylon bags and I completely love them. I have been using them for all of my bulk shopping- even for flour, and they work perfectly. The unlined nylon is very strong, washable, and easily close-able with a twist tie. I have also been the large sized bag for produce and it works great.

I also had the chance to try a Kootsac natural silk re-usable bag. This is a great choice for those who are looking for an all natural and biodegradable re-usable bag. I have been using the kootsac silk bag a ton as well. It is my favorite for spices and holds even the finest materials. I completely recommend both the silk and the nylon bags for all of your produce and bulk shopping needs.

This great eco-friendly shop was started when the creator realized that she was using far too much plastic while bulk shopping at her local health food store. She wanted to find an alternative that was lightweight, strong, and washable. She also wanted a bag that could be fastened closed and that had a tight enough weave to hold all of her bulk purchases. Over the last couple of years I have developed a huge crush on natural hand-made soap. It always smells so good, makes my skin feel great, and is perfectly gentle. Sweet Leaf Bath co makes all of their lovely soap by hand in small bathes to ensure quality. They carefully select all of their ingredients to create nutrients rich soap that will cleanse, moisturize, and nourish your skin. I love that Sweet Leaf Bath co soaps are completely pure and natural and never contain synthetic fragrances, dyes and additives. Sweet Leaf Bath co soap is also really pretty and each bar looks like a piece of cake- yumm.  I tried two wonderful natural soaps from Sweet Leaf Bath and I love them both.

The Mojito Soap is a refreshing and moisturizing soap that is prefect for hot summer days. It has a refreshing mint tea smell, and leaves my skin feeling fresh and clean. Mojito soap contains nourishing and moisturizing ingredients such as coconut oil, Shea butter, and olive oil that leave my skin soft and moisturized. It also contains refreshing ingredients such as parsley, spearmint, and lime that really help wake up my skin and get me going in the morning.

I also tried the delicious and decadent Chocolate Peppermint Soap. This natural soap smells just like chocolate-chip mint ice-cream and is completely addicting. It lathers up nicely and makes my skin smell and feel smooth as chocolate. The Chocolate Peppermint soap is designed to both sooth and awaken, and contains nourishing and moisturizing ingredients such as coconut oil, olive oil, Shea butter, hemp seed oil, and cocoa butter. Chocolate is just about my favorite thing in the world and I will definitely be buying this soap again and again.

Hopscotch Kids Safe Nail Polish Review and Giveaway

All three of my girls love to play dress-up and wear nail polish, so I am always excited to learn about non-toxic polish for kids. My latest safe nail polish find is Hopscotch Kids Water Colors Safe Nail Polish. This water based nail polish is gentle, non-toxic, eco-friendly, hypoallergenic, and completely biodegradable. It also comes in 9 pretty and fun colors that kids of all ages will love.

Hopscotch Kids Water Colors Safe Nail Polish is completely safe and non-toxic. It doesn't contain any of the scary chemicals that you will find in almost all other polish on the market such as; toluene, dibutyl phthalate, formaldehyde, acetone, or heavy metals. My youngest always has her hands in her mouth, so a non-toxic polish is a must. Hopscotch polish also smells mild and doesn't release noxious fumes.

We love to do "spa day" at our house and our Hopscotch Kids nail polish has been a great addition to our natural spa play. All three of my girls love the Bubble Gum in a Dish polish we tried- it is so bright and fun. It also glides on smoothly and little nails only need one coat to look perfectly pink. I was also impressed at how fast this polish dries, because honestly my little girls wont stay still for long.

Since Hopscotch kids polish is water based, some special instructions are needed to get great results. The polish will peal off if you don't let it set for a couple of hours before having a bath or shower. The Hopscotch Kids gift pack I received from Raspberry Kids also contains an emery board- and we found a gentle buff really helps the polish adhere to your nails and last longer. Once we buffed and let the polish set overnight, it lasts several days and looks beautiful. I have been completely happy with Hopscotch Kids Water Colors Safe Nail Polish and I completely recommend it to any natural mama with girly girls.

We also tried the corn based  Hopscotch Kids Water Colors Polish Remover. This all-natural polish remover is gentle and contains natural conditioners such as Aloe and Vitamin E. It works great at removing Hopscotch Kids Water Colors Safe Nail Polish, and it has a mild smell.
