Rocky Mountain Kid Review and Giveaway ~ Two Winners- CLOSED

Rocky Mountain Kid is a great online shop that specializes in gear for active babies and kids. Our family likes to get out in nature and hike, camp, canoe, kayak, and just explore. If I have learned one thing from our many adventures, its that having fun outdoors with little kids really depends on having the right gear. Rocky Mountain Kid is a great place to buy this gear, and they have offered two of my readers the chance to win an organic Patagonia T-shirt.

Rocky Mountain kid was started by a couple who love the outdoors and wanted to be able to take their daughter on their many adventures. To do this they needed quality outdoor baby and kids gear, and wanted a convenient place to buy it: so Rocky Mountain Kid was born. This retailer of high quality outdoor gear is based out of Alberta's Rocky Mountains (go Canada). All of the products that they sell are tested in the great Canadian wilderness by their staff. This dedication to selling only high quality, well tested products really shows in the clothing and accessories that they carry.

I was sent the Hooded Down Jacket from Molehill Mountain to test out, and with fall well on its way we have been using this jacket a lot. My youngest daughter (who has protested many a jacket in the past) loves this jacket. It is very warm, yet light weight and easy to wear. Its not stiff like many winter jackets, but comfortable and easy to run and play in. It also has a toasty hood, that fastens around her chin and keeps her safe from the elements. It has made our recent outdoor adventures fun and warm, even though the weather has turned very cold here.
The quality of this jacket is amazing, in fact like all Molehill Products it comes with a lifetime warranty! The jacket is filled with warm down feathers and the outer fabric is a down-proof nylon, that is also rip proof and water resistant. The Molehill Mountain Hooded Jacket has great details that I rarely see on jackets for little children, such as an interior zippered pocket and elastic around the bottom hem to keep out drafts. My daughter loves this jacket, and I completely recommend it to anyone looking for a great quality warm jacket for their kids.

The Hooded Jacket from Molehill Mountain is also super cute. It is available in two bright colors- celestial blue or red. We get many compliments about how nice this jacket is, and I completely agree.
As mentioned Rocky Mountain Kid has a great selection of outdoor clothing and accessories for your little ones. They not only sell toasty jackets and snow suits, they also have a great selection of warm weather outdoor gear. They sell adorable swim suits, lovely organic t-shirts, pretty sun dresses, sunglasses, shoes, and much more. Rocky Mountain Kid carries only the highest quality brands such as : Patagonia, Hatley, Milkshaxs, Molehill Mountain, Merrell and many more.

Shop: Rocky Mountain kid is a great place to buy outdoor clothing and accessories for your kids (including the wonderful jacket mentioned above). They also carry many great gift ideas for any active families or kids on your Christmas list this year.

The Giveaway: Rocky Mountain Kid has generously offered TWO baby or children's Patagonia organic cotton t-shirts to giveaway to my readers (so i will be choosing two winners). These T-shirts are adorable, and you will get to choose the size, color, and graphic that you want.

My Sweet Punkin Patch Diaper Review and Giveaway

I love adding new diapers to my cloth diaper stash, so I was thrilled when My Sweet Punkin Patch sent me an AIO cloth diaper to try out. It was love at first sight with these diapers. They are so easy to use, so cute, and work so well. I am excited to tell you all about them and about this great cloth diaper shop.

The first thing I noticed when I started using these diapers, is how great they are for night and nap time diapering. The Snap in Flannel soaker is very thick and super absorbent. I can often pull out the insert in the night, and the diaper is still perfectly dry and usable. This is more convenient than a full change. The PUL outer fabric is also leak-proof, so no worries about waking up to a wet bed.

The AIO (all in one) Punkin Patch diaper that I tried is fast becoming a favorite of mine. The outer PUL fabric is soft, yet completely leak proof. The in-between layer is made of high quality killington flannel and is ultra absorbent, yet dries quickly. The flannel lining and matching insert are both made with soft flannel that is cozy next to babies skin. Finally this diaper is so convenient and easy to use. I love using this diaper and recommend it to all cloth diaper users.
Besides the great attributes mentioned above, My Sweet Punkin Patch Diapers are the cutest diapers around. There are so many great colors and prints available. I tried out the Blaze Orange diaper with the monkey flannel on the inside, and its so fun and bright. My little one liked the pattern right away. I also love the sweet detail of the applique label on the front.

I love home-made and everything at My Sweet Punkin Patch is home-made by the owner~ Brook. In fact when you order most products, they are made especially for you. She is very talented, and the diapers she sews are really high quality. I also try to support mom- owned businesses whenever possible. Something just feels "right" about moms supporting other moms. So I was thrilled to learn that Brook who owns and operates My Sweet Punkin Patch is a mom of 5!
This shop is a great place for all your cloth diapering needs. My Sweet Punkin Patch carriers pocket diapers, prefolds and flats, and has fitted diapers coming soon. They also have a great selection of hand made printed cloth wipes, Bibs, lots more.

If you are a baby wearing mama like me; My Sweet Punkin Patch also carries beautiful handmade ring slings and pouch slings. My daughter lived in her ring sling for the first 6 months, and I totally recommend them to everyone. Not only are the slings at My Sweet Punkin patch so pretty, but they are also amazingly affordable at $31-$41 US. These slings would make a really great gift for any new or expectant moms on your Christmas list this year.

More things I love about Sweet Punkin Patch Diapers:
-High quality stitching
-Made in the US
-Very affordable
-Fit 6lbs to 50+lbs
-Larger sizes great for bed wetting or special needs children
-Strong-escape proof-velcro

Where to Buy: My Sweet Punkin Patch Diapers, and the other items mentioned above are available online directly from the My Sweet Punkin Patch web site.
Sale Alert: My Sweet Punkin Patch currently has some lovely diaper covers on sale for only 6.50 (US) each- what a deal!

The Giveaway- Brook from My Sweet Punkin Patch has been nice enough to offer an AIO Diaper in winners choice of color and size to one of my readers.

Putumayo Kids~ A Family Christmas Review and Giveaway

My family and I have been huge fans of Putumayo Kids for years now. We have at least 5 of their albums, most of which have become cherished favorites. Since we know that Putumayo only puts out the best, I was super excited when they approached me to review their new Christmas album: A Family Christmas. This CD is wonderful, and we have been having a great time listening to it and getting into the holiday spirit.

Putumayo has put together a timeless array of holiday favorites on their newest holiday album; A Family Christmas. This album includes a great selection of well loved Christmas classics performed by some of today's most talented musicians. It is perfect for listening to as you trim the tree, bake cookies, make Christmas crafts, or enjoy Christmas Dinner. A Family Christmas is perfect for family gatherings too because both old and young can enjoy this album. Its traditional enough to appeal to the grandparents, yet fun enough for the kids. My kids especially love how danceable many of the songs are. I know it will be getting played a lot during our celebrations this year, and for years to come.

Listening to A Family Christmas is sure to bring back a flood of great childhood memories. As a child I loved Christmas more than any other time of the year and this album brings all of those great memories back. As I listen, I cannot help but feel nostalgic about stringing popcorn, opening stockings, decorating our tree, and caroling with my family. I'm now building memories with my girls around these classic songs, that will evoke fond memories throughout their lives as well.

As mentioned A Family Christmas is an album full of of old favorites, brought back to life with new and upbeat renditions. My kids all love Is Zat You Santa Clause by Big Bad Voodoo Daddy; a big band swing take on a Louis Armstrong classic that is super fun and silly. The girls have also been having a blast dancing around to Santa Clause is Coming to Town by Johnny Breger. This song is super upbeat and is especially loved by the baby. Since I'm a sucker for a pretty voice my personal favorite is Winter Wonderland by the lovely Deana Carter. I also really love the ethereal old English folk song Here We Come A-Wassailing sang by Kate Rusby. All of the songs are truly great, and I'm sure you will soon have your own favorites. When you stop by the Putumayo Kids web-page, have a listen yourself. They offer sample clips of each song on the album. Putumayo kids is also offering a free MP3 download of the song Jolly old St. Nick.

Besides producing lovely music for young and old, Putumayo takes an active role in promoting cultural diversity and understanding through musical education. Many of the Putumayo Cd's feature singers from all over our globe, and inspire our children to dance, sing, and drum to the beat of many nations. Putumayo Kids also supports several non-profit organizations that promote healthy communities, a healthy planet, and fight for the rights of children worldwide. They have donated more than 1 million dollars to these agencies so far, making a huge difference in the lives of so many children. I always feel great about supporting this amazing company.

Where to buy: A Family Christmas would make a wonderful gift for almost anyone on your Christmas list this year. The CD can be bought online directly from Putumayo Kids. It can also be found at many quality children's shops and music stores across Canada and the US.

The Giveaway: Putumayo Kids has very generously offered to give one of my readers their own copy of A Family Christmas.

Hatley Pajamas For The Holidays: Review and Giveaway- CLOSED

As the weather turns cool, nothing is better than a pair of cozy comfy pajamas. That's why I love giving PJ's as Christmas presents, and my girls love receiving them. Christmas came a little early for my youngest this year. She received her pair of Hatley pajamas to try out a couple of weeks ago, and she has been wearing them ever since.

As you can see from her picture, my girl LOVES her Hatley PJ's. In fact they are so cozy, she wants to wear them all day. Hatley pajamas are made in Canada with 100% knit cotton. They are super soft and made with quality in mind. I love the snug fit and how warm these pajamas keep my baby. They have quickly become her favorite pajamas, and the first to get worn after laundry day.

Hatley PJ's are available in the cutest prints- most inspired by Canadian nature. We reviewed the apple print, but I also love the Polka Dots, the Red Moose, and the Farmer Jack prints. Another cool thing about Hatley PJ's is that they have the same prints in adult sizes. My girls would be so excited if we could all wear the same PJ's- because they love being matchy with mom (a trend that I'm sure will not last into their teen years). I am planning on ordering the Polka Dots for all my girls and myself for the holiday season, so we can open our presents while matching this Christmas (yes we are that cheesy).
As a parent with real concerns about all the chemicals that my girls are exposed to- my favorite thing about Hatley pajamas is that they are not treated with flame retardant. My family has stopped using any products treated with these awful chemicals, so I was so happy to learn about Hatley's adorable and safe pajamas. Flame Retardants are made out of toxic brominated chemicals that have been linked to nervous system damage, impaired thyroid function, and liver damage. These chemicals do not wash out of clothing or bedding, so it is important to avoid them as much as possible. So how can you tell is your child's PJ's are treated with toxic chemicals?? I assume that all pajamas are treated with fire retardant unless they say "must be snug fitting” or "not flame resistant" on the label.

Hatey for the Holidays: Hatley Pajamas make amazing Christmas gifts. They have several new Holiday prints that are especially sweet. They also have pages and pages of items under 20$ that would make great stocking stuffers.

More chances to win at Hatley:
~Hatley has an ongoing photo contest for their customers. Simply e-mail them a picture of your little one in any Hatley merchandise, and you can win a pair of Hatley PJ's.
~ Hatley is also having a Christmas shop and win giveaway. One order per week will be won, from now until Christmas.

Where to buy: You can buy Hatley Merchandise online from their web-page. Hatley merchandise is also found in retail outlets across Canada and the US; for a list of retailers near you, have a look here.

The Giveaway: Hatley has generously offered to give one of my readers their choice of children's or infants PJ's.

To Enter: Visit Hatley and shop around, then come back here and comment below letting me know what your favorite PJ's are. This first entry must be completed for additional entries to count. Eden's Bouquet Review

I love photography and my favorite subject is always my girls. Something I have learned about photographing children, is the outfit can really make the shot. I recently had the opportunity to try out a dress from Eden's Bouquet, and it photographed beautifully. In fact all of their clothing is amazingly romantic, whimsical, and just perfect for in front of the camera.

Eden's Bouquet has several lines of vintage inspired baby and children's clothing including the Friday Harbor Collection, Cobblestone Collection, Port Of Morrow Collection, Garden Gate Collection, Cottage Heirloom Collection, Heirloom Layette Collection, and the upcoming Holiday Collection~ Vienna Soiree. All of their pieces are heirloom quality with many drafted from vintage patterns. The Fabrics used are high quality silks, velvets, lace, and organic cotton. Several of the items are made to order as well. While the clothing from Edens Bouquet is truly lovely, it is all comfortable enough for children to love wearing.
The dress my daughter tried out is the Gwendolyn Ruffle Dress (seen above) from the Friday Harbor Collection. The Gwendolyn Dress is so pretty with layers of wispy ruffles and a smocked top. The straps on the Gwendolyn Dress are also adjustable, so this dress can be worn for years. It looks great long, as seen on my daughter and also is super cute shorter. This dress is quality made with 100% organic cotton, and is machine washable. My daughter loved wearing this dress, it was so comfortable and was twirly which made it fun for her to run and play in.

Eden's Bouquet makes so many pretty pieces. I love this Organza Rose Gown and think it would be perfect for a wedding. Many of my other favorites are less formal and wonderful for everyday wear. I especially love the Azure Velvet Pants and the Poplin Tie Dress (and both are on sale right now- gush) I also love that Eden's Bouquet is a small family run business and everything is made in the US.

Shop: If you have never heard of Eden's Bouquet, you have to go and look around their site. The clothing is so pretty, and the photography is amazing! If you have been a long time admirer of the clothes, like myself, go have a second look. Right now is a great time to buy, because Eden's Boutique is having a huge clearance sale to make room for their two new collection; The Vienna Soirée Collection. So many lovely pieces are on sale, including the Gwendolyn Ruffle Dress that I reviewed (down to $48, from the regular price of $64).

Eden's Bouquet has a wonderful blog as well. The photography is truly inspiring, and by following the blog I've been able learn about sales and new collections.

The opinions expressed in the above review are my honest experiences with Eden's Bouquet. I did not receive any money for writing this review. Eden's Bouquet provided me with the above mentioned dress and I provided this review.

The Pixel Boutique Review and Giveaway

I love to write reviews and offer giveaways, but I am admitted not very tech savvy. That's why I am so thankful for Nicole from The Pixel Boutique. She is the graphic designer behind Canadian Natural Mama Reviews, and I think she has done an amazing job.

I loved working with Nicole from The Pixel Boutique last spring when I started this blog. She is very friendly and a total pleasure to work with. She has an uncanny knack for taking your ideas, blending them with her own, and creating truly beautiful design work. She also has amazing taste and a great eye for color. To see Nicole's design work, have a look at her portfolio here.

When I first approached Nicole to design my blog, I really only had a vague idea of the what I wanted the blog to look like. I sent her a couple ideas to give her a sense of my taste, and she created a beautiful and unique blog. I was totally blown away by her design work. If you are thinking about starting your own blog or making some changes to your existing blog- I completely recommend The Pixel Boutique.

You may have noticed some changes to my blog this month. I was so happy with the work that Nicole from The Pixel Boutique did designing my blog that I approached her again recently when I wanted to make some changes to my blog. She added a 3rd column, numbered my comments, and made me a pretty blog button (which you can see on the right). It was great to work with Nicole again, and I am so pleased with the new look of my blog.

If you like to do things yourself, The Pixel Boutique website offers many great free tutorials. I just used this tutorial on how to add a grab my button link. It was quick and easy, and I'm so pleased with myself for learning a new skill. There is also a tutorial for adding a horizontal navigation bar that I'm planning on trying once i get a little more brave working with html. If you want to add some new elements to your blog stop by and see what things you can learn.

Hire The Pixel Boutique: The Pixel Boutique offers many design services including: blog design, banner design, web page design, logo design, stationary packages, mommy cards, signatures, blog buttons, print and web ads, twitter backgrounds, personal announcements such as wedding invites, and so much more. If you have any web design needs, I completely recommend you send Nicole an e-mail. Her rates are reasonable, she does lovely work, and she is wonderful to work with.

The Pixel Boutique also has an Etsy Shop, where you can find many great pre-made designs such as the one pictured above. These designs are beautiful, and are very reasonably priced.

The Giveaway: Nicole has offered one of my readers a chance to win a blog button, business card, or signature design. She will work with you to design a great and unique piece that will compliment your blog or business.

To Enter: Have a look around at The Pixel Boutique on Etsy and let me know what pre-made design is your favorite. (this first entry is mandatory for additional comments to count).
