Bummas Review and Giveaway- CLOSED

"Keep diaper rash at bay, the Bummas way. After the wipe and

before the dipe, use a soft kiss of cloth to dry bums off"

So what is a Bummas?
They are eco-friendly drying wipes for babies. I received a pack of Bummas to review last week, and we love them. If you haven't tried bummas yet i highly recommend you do.

These wipes are ultra soft 100% cotton and come in lovely and bright color combos. They are so soft that my daughter actually likes to just carry one around like a softie.

Say good bye to diaper rash: Bummas were designed by parents who watched their newborn son suffer through diaper rashes and knew there had to be a solution. Rash causing bacteria and yeasts thrive in warm and wet conditions. Simply drying your babies behind before re-diapering can do wonders to prevent rashes. They are also naturally antibacterial and antimicrobial.

These are just such a great idea. Now that it is widely recommended to not use powders to dust at diaper changes, I have just been putting diapers on my baby wet. I'm sure this has been contributing to her diaper rashes, so i am just thrilled to have discovered these wipes. I have only been using them for a few days and i am already seeing a huge improvement in her rashes.

As wipes: I have also been using my bummas as wipes. I just wet them under warm water and use them in place of traditional (chemical containing) wipes. They are much softer, safer and less irritating to sensitive skin than wipes. They are also very convenient, i just keep a pile in my diapering area, and once used wash them up with my cloth diapers.

Bummas are also great for babies who pee during changes. You just lay the bummas over the little baby bits while you change the diaper. These super absorbent wipes will catch any surprise attacks and soak them up.

Bummas have so many other uses too:
- softy for baby
-bath washcloth
- burp cloths
-great for wiping sensitive faces
......and more to be discovered

Bummas wash very nicely so a pack should last you the duration of your babies time in diapers.

Buy your own set: Bummas are affordably priced at $16.99 for a 10 pack and can be bought online here. They also ship world wide!

Sage Creek Organics Review and Giveaway- CLOSED

Sage Creek Organics is a company specializing in high quality organic baby and toddler clothes, bedding, and gifts. They have a huge variety of beautiful products to choose from and everything is 100% organic.

I'm crazy about Sage Creek Organics so i was thrilled when they sent me an adorable outfit (pictured on my beautiful little model) to try out and review. I loved it and so did my baby girl. The top is so pretty and is very light and cool to wear on warm days. The leggings are ultra soft and so comfy. They have a lot of stretch too, so they will last a very long time. The quality on both items was just amazing! They also washed very nicely. These are definitely clothes that will last many years.
The top is the Flutter Sleeve Top in White/Red and is on sale for $18.40. The bottoms are the Capri Leggings in Red Stripe and are on sale for $14.40 .

I was first drawn to Sage creek by a friend who gushed about the great quality at amazing prices. Organic clothing can really break the bank sometimes, but Sage Creek Organics has very fair prices. They also have great sales, and a 10$ page where you can find a ton of lovely organics for only 10$!

My families health is really important to me, and is the main reason i shop organic. All of the products at Sage Creek are 100% Organic. No chemicals or pesticides are used at any time during the growing of the cotton or during the manufacturing of their clothes or bedding. All of the dyes used are safe and eco friendly and no harsh finishing agents are added. These are products that you can feel good about having your babies live in.

All of Sage Creek Organics product's are certified to be organically grown and processed by ECO CERT, a very strict and well respected governing body in organics.

Sage Creek is obviously a company with a conscience. Besides helping to protect our planet with strict organic practices, they also use only fair trade suppliers and producers and support and contribute to the World Wildlife Fund and IFAW. This is a company i feel great about supporting!

Super Duper Diaper Review and Hazel Wood Teething Necklace Giveaway- CLOSED

After a few false starts i am going back to using cloth diapers exclusively. Why? There are so many reasons, but the three that i have based my decision on are:
1.Cost- The average baby goes through 6-8 thousand diapers before they are toilet trained at the estimated cost of 2-3 thousand dollars. Yikes. Cloth diapers on the other hand will only cost you about 6-8 hundred dollars, even less if you have more kids and pass them on.
2. The Environment- I try to do my part to reduce waste, and disposable diapers sure pile up in our landfills. The 6-8 thousand diapers that baby uses take 300-500 years to decompose.
3. Babies Health- diapers are full of toxic chemicals such as chlorine, dioxins, tributyltin, and sodium polyacrylate. There is also ongoing studies that have shown diapers emit airborne irritants that cause respiratory problems. It really freaks me out to think that i am exposing my baby to these things.

So now that i have made the decision to switch i have been scouring the web looking for the best Canadian made cloth diapers that i could find. I came across The Super Duper Diaper web page, and i am so happy to be able to share my experience with these great diapers.

Let me just start by saying Malou, the owner of Super Duper Diapers, is just the sweetest. She is a cloth diapering mom herself and is a wealth of knowledge. Anyone who has the pleasure of buying products from her will have amazing customer service. She is available to answer any cloth diapering questions you may have and is very helpful.

I tested the MAGIK Diaper in Bamboo as well as the nylon diaper cover with snaps, and the biodegradable and flush able liners.

The diapers: These diapers are amazingly soft and so comfortable. The bamboo has a lot of stretch, so they do not limit babies movement like many diapers. They also just feel so natural. My daughter just loves them!!
The bamboo Magik diapers are very absorbent, about twice as absorbent as the cotton diapers i have. We haven't had one leak since we began using the diaper. The bamboo is also naturally antibacterial and wicks the moisture away from babies skin. In my opinion once you've used a bamboo diaper its very hard to go back to anything else.

I also loved that the Magik Diapers will last the duration of your babies time in diapers. They are adjustable- and fit babies from 8-32 pounds. This is such a huge money saver!

The diaper cover- The 100% nylon diaper cover that we received from Super Duper Diapers is great. Its soft, moves well with baby, stops leaks, and doesn't hold any moisture. It also has adjustable snaps- so like the diaper it grows with your baby.

The liners- I love the Biodegradable and flush-able diaper liners that are available at Super Duper Diapers. They make cloth diapering a thousand times less messy. Instead of having to rinse or scrape the diaper into the toilet, you simply dump the liner and the BM in the toilet and flush the mess away- Super duper easy :)

Another great thing about these diapers is that they are made in Canada. I try to buy Canadian made (or US made) whenever possible. I just feel that products made in Canada and the US are so much more safe than products manufactured in many other parts of the world. Buying products close to home also helps out the earth, since less transportation equals less greenhouse gases being pumped into our air.

Where to buy:
Buy these wonderful Diapers, The Hazel wood teething necklaces, and many other great products for moms at Super Duper Diapers.

I would recommend a Super Duper kit to anyone who is ready to make the change to cloth diapers. They contain everything you will need to get started, and enough diapers to last the duration of your babies time in diapers. Super Duper Diapers also has great trial kits, in case your thinking about cloth but still unsure if it will work for you and what kind of diapers you like.

The Giveaway:
The wonderful Malou at Super Duper Diapers have generously offered to sponsor a giveaway for a lovely hazel wood teething necklace. You can choose from a blue or a pink necklace pictured below.

I've personally been dying to try a hazel wood necklace out on my baby girl. These lovely necklaces are made from the wood of Canadian Hazel trees, which is known for its amazing medical properties. The wooden beads absorb and neutralize the bodies acidity treating any problems that are related to PH imbalance. They help babies and children with teething pain, skin rashes, reflux, stomach upset, and excessive drooling. They also are just so adorable.

Super Duper Diapers also carries hazel wood necklaces, bracelets, and watches for adults.

To enter: Please visit Super Duper Diapers and have a look around. Come back here and comment on another item (besides the magik diaper or the necklace) that you would like to try. (This first entry is mandatory and must be done in order to qualify for any additional entries)

Tip Toey Joey Shoes Review and Giveaway- CLOSED

I must admit i have a bit of a baby shoe fetish. I just love baby shoes, especially good quality baby shoes. I have no clue why and even though my baby girl has several pairs that fit her I'm always out shopping for more. She's only one and has more shoes than me...it sounds wasteful, but I do have a baby niece who gets all of her old shoes- so really they get lots of use. Yes i am trying to justify my addiction ;) ok maybe i need a 12 step program (get it step- ha ha) OK this intro is getting ridiculous.

Anyway In my quest to find baby adorable quality shoes i came across Tip Toey Joey. I love these shoes, they are so cute and come in so many styles and colors. My fave (and the ones i have) are the Crissy shoes in white and gold.

All of their shoes are made of soft subtle leather that is non-restrictive and allows babies feet to grow and move. Good quality footwear really is important for babies whose bones are still malleable and growing faster than any other time. The shoes also have a padded leather insole that pulls perspiration away from babies feet while also giving added comfort.

The bottom of these shoes are made with thin, non skid rubber soles. They are flexible allowing for natural development of foot and leg muscles, as well as helping to maintain good balance and posture.

In my opinion the best thing about these shoes (well besides how darn cute they are) is that they actually stay on babies feet. They easily slip on, and have an elastic heel that keeps them in place.

All Tip Toey Joey shoes are made by hand in Brazil.

Buy a pair: Tip Toey Joey shoes are sold all over the world, with many online and retail stores across Canada and the US. For a complete list of retailers head over to the Tip Toey Joey webpage.

I am giving away an awesome Pair of Tip Toey Joey "wavey" shoes in beige/olive : 6-12 month size (pictured at left). These shoes would look great on a boy or a girl.
